WoW Dragonflight Quality of Life Changes & Borrowed Power

Ever since the Legion expansion was released, a form of "Borrowed Power" has always been present in WoW. This first came as Legion's Artifact Weapons and Legendaries, Battle for Azeroth's Azerite, and Shadowlands' Covenants.

IMPORTANT: Covenants are an integral part of Shadowlands

Borrowed Power has been a problem for players transitioning between expansions. According to Hazzikostas, having players know their power was eventually "just fleeting and that it was all going to be gone" soured the overall gameplay experience.

The same can be said for features like reputation grinds, cosmetic appearances, and more being locked to characters rather than account-wide.

In response to this, Blizzard will make "...everything except getting gear from dungeons and quests" account-wide in Dragonflight.

WELCOMING: Dragonflight will look to be the most alt-friendly expansion yet

"We’re constantly asking the question of how is this going to feel the second, third, [and] fourth time through. How is this going to feel if you’re someone who’s coming along months down the line and solving those problems from the start instead of waiting to do it reactively?"

Mission Tables removed, Great Vault to continue in WoW Dragonflight

Similar to Borrowed Power, Mission Tables were implemented in Warlords of Draenor. As the game progressed and expansions kept releasing, the role of Mission Tables changed. Ultimately this lead to Shadowlands' version of Mission Tables which aren't an integral part of story progress for players.

Some aspects of Shadowlands that will carry on however include the Great Vault and Blizzard's new Mythic+ philosophy that was adopted for Shadowlands Season 4.

For Dragonflight, the devs are looking to add past dungeons into the mythic plus rotation, specifically dungeons from Mists of Pandaria. The end goal is for each season to have variety, so we should see plenty of the game's most classic dungeons represented in Mythic + in WoW Dragonflight.
