WoW Shadowlands 9.2: Everything we know about the final patch of the expansion

WoW Shadowlands 9.2, Eternity's End, will be the final update of World of Warcraft's latest expansion - and it's finally here!

The update brings a new zone with Zereth Mortis, a new raid with Sepulcher of the First Ones, as well as bringing back class tier sets and plenty more.

With that, here's everything you need to know about WoW Shadowlands 9.2, Eternity's End, including its new raid, zone, patch notes, and everything in-between.

UPDATED - WoW Shadowlands 9.2 marks the longest Race to World First yet

A new patch in World of Warcraft marks a new raid, and a new raid marks a new Race to World First. For WoW Shadowlands 9.2's race, it's been a bit different as the top contending guilds, Echo and Liquid, have yet to kill the final boss, leading to the longest race yet.

After nearly three weeks since the Race to World First started, both Echo and Liquid are on Sepulcher of the First Ones' final boss, the Jailer. It's been a tumultuous road so far as they've had to deal with both the raid's staggered release schedule and extremely difficult bosses such as Halondrus.

Shadowlands 9.2 Release Time & Launch Schedule

WoW Shadowlands 9.2 is officially LIVE!

Shadowlands 9.2 finally went live at 1pm EST on Tuesday, February 22nd after 3 hours of server maintenance.

This launch went directly in line with Blizzard's schedule for it, something WoW veterans will take as a very pleasant surprise.

And now that the hour is here, it's time to dive in and enjoy all of the new conntent!

Release Date

The official WoW Shadowlands 9.2 release date has finally been revealed! WoW Shadowlands 9.2 will launch on February 22nd.

Players can test out the game's upcoming new content now via the PTR, which has added a number of updates to the Shadowlands 9.2 patch notes since its first reveal.

Shadowlands 9.2 Patch Notes

With Shadowlands 9.2 now live on the PTR, here's our first look at the patch notes to come in the massive update.

DUNGEONS AND RAIDS

• New Raid: Sepulcher of the First Ones
  • Deep in the Sepulcher of the First Ones lies the key to unlock the Jailer’s plans. Gather the power of the First Ones as you pursue Zovaal into the Sepulcher and fight through his forces—but first, you must face Anduin, and discover a way to resist the Jailer’s terrifying Domination magic.
• Tazavesh, the Veiled Market
  • Now separated into two dungeons and added to the Mythic+ dungeon rotation.

ITEMS AND REWARDS

• Progenitor Armor Set
  • Collect your class armor set from defeating bosses in the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid and from the Great Vault to unlock 2-piece and 4-piece set bonuses that power certain abilities for your specialization.
    • Developers’ note: When the PTR is live, Setzertauren can be found in the central ring of Oribos to purchase the armor sets for testing the set bonuses.

PET BATTLES

• New wild pets to capture in Zereth Mortis.

PLAYER VERSUS PLAYER

• New Brawl: Solo Shuffle
  • The Solo Shuffle brawl pits six players (two healers, four damage dealers) against each other in exciting 3v3 Arena matches. As the name implies, you can only queue for this brawl solo. Play a series of short matches as teams are shuffled and earn rewards based on your performance.

PROFESSIONS

• Rare Crafted Equipment recipes now have an additional Optional Reagent slot.
• New Recipes (All of these new recipes and reagents can be found on the Craftataur NPC in Oribos during the 9.2 PTR)
  • Optional Reagent: Crafter’s Mark IV– Set the crafted equipment to item level 233 and the required level to 60.
  • Optional Reagent: Crafter’s Mark of the First Ones – Set the crafted equipment to item level 262, required level to 60, and adds Unique Equipped: Shadowlands Crafted.
  • Alchemy
    • Optional Reagent: Sustaining Armor Polish
    • Optional Reagent: Infusion: Corpse Purification
    • New Potion: Cosmic Healing Potion (Flaskataur in Oribos sells the potions during the PTR)
  • Cooking
    • Empty Kettle of Stone Soup – Set out a Kettle of Stone Soup, ready to fill with delicious ingredients. Contribute ingredients to finish it and feed up to 35 people in your raid or party. Spend at least 10 seconds eating to become well fed with 20 in a stat for 1 hour.

TORGHAST, TOWER OF THE DAMNED

• New Game Mode: The Jailer’s Gauntlet
  • Run through a series of increasingly challenging boss battles, across 8 floors per layer and 8 layers total to earn unique rewards.
• Four new challenging Layers have been introduced, Layers 13–16.
• Torments
  • New: Empowered Torments – Existing Torments that have increased in strength.
    • 1 Empowered Torment will be applied to Layers 13–14, and 2 Empowered Torments will be applied to Layers 15–16.

USER INTERFACE AND ACCESSIBILITY

• New Feature: Click Casting
  • This feature allows you to cast spells by simply clicking on a unit frame.
  • Set up your spell bindings by going to the Key Bindings menu or Interface Options → Combat.
• New Setting: Unit Frame Mouseover Casting
  • This setting allows you to mouse over a unit frame and cast a spell on that character without targeting them.
  • Access this setting under Interface Options → Combat.

ZERETH MORTIS
Zereth Mortis was created by the First Ones as a workshop to create afterlives. Its denizens—the automa—have built all that exists in the Shadowlands. It is a strange, otherworldly location that defies all concepts of reality or physics. The Jailer intends to use the secrets of Zereth Mortis to reshape reality and bend it to his malevolent will.

• New Reputation: The Enlightened
  • The Enlightened are brokers that arrived on Zereth Mortis a long time ago. They no longer see their world in a transactional manner, but instead they treat their dwelling as a sacred place, and hope to answer to a higher calling—the pursuit of knowledge. Find common ground with The Enlightened to succeed and defend Zereth Mortis.
• Cypher of the First Ones
  • The automa of Zereth Mortis speak in a musical language that is incomprehensible to mortal races. Team up with a curious automa sidekick in this new progression system to learn the lost language of the Progenitors and delve deeper into the secrets of Zereth Mortis, unlocking an array of new zone activities, daily quests, events, and rewards.
    • Developers’ note: This feature is currently under development so any aspects being discussed could be subject to change.
• New World Boss: Antros, Keeper of the Antecedents located on Antecedent Isle in Zereth Mortis.
• New World Quests are available after completing Chapter 2 of the new campaign.
• New Haven and Dimensional Falls questlines.
• New rares and treasures to discover.
  • Developers’ note: Zereth Mortis rewards and combat tuning are still under development.

9.2 Leaks Reveal Major Spoilers

Dataminers have put forth some WoW Shadowlands 9.2 leaks that could spoil some major details of the expansion's storyline.

While these details aren't confirmed, the leaks point to a new Arbiter in the Shadowlands storyline. This Arbiter will supposedly be Pelagos, the young minor character from the Kyrian Covenant and Bastion chains.

The role that Arbiter Pelagos has to play is not clear just yet, and these leaks aren't confirmed either. But still, these details seem likely, and data miners have certainly been correct with Shadowlands leaks before.

New Features in Shadowlands 9.2

Blizzard kicked off the Shadowlands 9.2 reveals with a huge developer breakdown on the many things coming to the expansion. From its new zone Zereth Mortis to its new raid Sepulcher of the First Ones, the developers gave a ton of insight into how these new additions came together and what they mean for the greater Shadowlands story.

CLASS TIER SETS RETURN

Harness the power of the First Ones by collecting distinctive class armor sets via raids, PvP, or Mythic+ dungeons. Each set comes with powerful 2- and 4-piece set bonuses that complement your unique abilities.

OTHER FEATURES

• Mythic+ and PvP Season 3
• Tazavesh added to the Mythic Keystone Dungeon rotation
  • Note: Tazavesh will be split into two separate dungeons for Seasonal content.
• New Mounts and Pets
• Updates to Professions and Conduits
• New dancing mini-game at the Darkmoon Faire

Massive Feral Druid & Frost Mage Nerfs Added to Shadowlands 9.2

Ever since it got placed in the PTR, WoW Shadowlands 9.2 has constantly been receiving updates. With over 15 updates since its addition to the PTR, plenty of things have changed in the past few days for the next Shadowlands update, and more changes are here.

The latest WoW Shadowlands 9.2 patch notes now live on the PTR mainly focus on Feral Druid class armor set nerfs and Discipline Priest and Unholy Death Knight class armor set buffs.

The latest update also includes significant Frost Mage nerfs independent of their own class armor set.

Shards of Domination will be disabled in Shadowlands 9.2 content

A new addition called Shards of Domination, a type of unique-gems, arrived in Shadowlands 9.1 to pair with the new Sanctum of Domination raid.

Shards of Domination offer massive benefits and effects on pieces of gear that have Domination Sockets in Shadowlands for them to slot in, more specifically, gear from Sanctum of Domination (or if you're lucky, from your Great Vault).

Moving forward, however, it looks like Blizzard will be disabling Shards of Domination and related bonuses in Shadowlands 9.2 content. This includes the new Zereth Mortis zone as well as the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid. Shards will also be disabled in all PVP and dungeons.

Disabling Shards of Domination in Shadowlands 9.2 should even the playing field for returning players that didn't raid Sanctum of Domination. It will also allow players focusing on other content (Mythic Dungeon content, PVP, and more) to not need to raid Sanctum of Domination to do well in their own areas.

Shadowlands 9.2 LIVE on the PTR

WoW Shadowlands 9.2 is now officially available to play on the Public Test Realm (PTR)!
