This week in independent wrestling (November 20th-26th 2017)

The US

One of the most popular promotions in the country, All Pro Wrestling present another massive show, Unstoppable, on the 25th at the Logan Square Auditorium in Chicago. Recently fired WWE producer Jimmy Jacobs continues his return to the indie scene when he challenges Rey Fenix for the AAW Heavyweight Championship, along with a high-flying matchup between Penta El 0M and Zema Ion for the Heritage Championship. Also scheduled to appear are Trevor Lee, Shane Strickland, ACH and many others. Tickets are available here and will eventually be available to watch at their on demand service for $7.99.

Beyond Wrestling host the Womens Wrestling Revolution Tournament For Tomorrow on the 26th at Electric Haze in Worcester Massachusetts. The show is scheduled to feature Deonna Purrazzo vs. Madison Rayne, and Veda Scott vs Sonya Strong, as well as Karen Q, Jordynne Grace and many others. There will also be a pregame show on Powerbomb TV before the event, with Johnny Silver vs Orange Cassidy and Nick Gage vs David Starr. In Cleveland, Ohio. Absolute Intense Wrestling present Hell On Earth 13 on Friday. The day before his title match for APW, Jimmy Jacobs wrestles the king of the independents Colt Cabana,as well as a high flying four-way masterclass between Jody Fleisch, Matt Cross, Laredo Kid and DJZ, and an Absolute Title Match between Tim Donst and Nick Gage. Nova Pro Wrestling present 11th Dimension on Friday night in Fairfax, Virginia. Matches include a very interesting match between Fred Yehi and Jonathan Gresham and two massive survivor series matches between Team Faye and Team Veda for the women's match, and The Carnies Vs. Arik Royal, Sugar Dunkerton and The Ugly Ducklings in the men's match. Tickets are available here.

UK and Ireland

Ireland's number one promotion, Over The Top Wrestling continue to build their burgeoning reputation with another big show at The National Stadium in Dublin on Sunday. Contenders 4, “Road to the Elite” includes some of the best young talent in the country as Aussie Open face off against Jordan Devlin and Scotty Davis, Joe Coffey battles Michael May and Raven Creed wrestles Debbie Keitel. Tickets are available here and the show will eventually be available at their on demand service.

Progress Wrestling are back at the Electric Ballroom in Camden for Chapter 58: Live Your Best Life on Sunday. In a main event that has many wrestling fans licking their lips, Travis Banks defends his Progress Championship against Matt Riddle in a what could be a MOTY contender. Also on the card, Eddie Dennis makes his first Chapter appearance since attacking his long time partner Mark Andrews at Chase The Sun, facing of against the very popular Jack Sexsmith. Tickets are sold out but the show will be available to watch a week afterwards on demand.

In Bristol, Pro Wrestling Chaos are back with All or Nothing on Saturday at the Bradley Stoke Leisure Centre. Eddie Dennis defends his King of Chaos Championship against the "King of Bros" Matt Riddle, Marty Scurll brings his villainy as he faces Dick Riley and The Brotherhood defend their Chaos Tag Titles against Project Lucha. Tickets are available from their website and the show will be available  on demand for only £3.99 a month.

Southside Wrestling have a busy day on the 25th with a double show from the Corp in Sheffield, with their Queen of the Ring tournament to crown the new Queen of Southside champion taking place at 2pm followed by Ill Manors in the evening. The day show includes first round matches between Kay Lee Ray and Toni Storm, Shanna vs Sienna, Sammi Jayne against Lana Austin and Session Moth Martina facing Viper. In the evening show they have Robbie X wrestling Brady Phillips, Bram against Adam Maxted and Bad Bones vs Chris Ridgeway. For tickets and all other show information visit their website.

In London, XWA bring us Wrestlefriends 2: Wrestle Friendlier on Saturday at the Resistance Gallery in Bethnal Green. The promotion who gave us the extraordinary Kota Ibushi fireworks incident bring us more craziness as Jimmy Havoc faces “The Neon Explosion” Cassius and Lord Gideon Grey competes against Kosta K in the rather bizarre Word of Sport match. Smash Wrestling put on another two days of shows in Ontario on the 25th and 26th with The Rumble at the Border on Saturday followed by Good Things End Badly on Sunday. Rumble at the Border sees Tyson Dux defend his Smash Wrestling Championship against Joe Hendry, while Mark Andrews returns to Canada in a triple threat match against Tarik and Matt Cross. At the following days show Kevin Bennett wrestles Petey Williams along with Matt Sydal & Matt Cross vs The Super Smash Bros. Both shows will be filmed for their On demand and Fight Network shows and all information can be found on their website.

Rest of the world

In New Zealand on Saturday, Southern Pro Wrestling give their future stars a shot with Fight Nights 6: Reborn Again at their Barracks training facility in West Invercargill. The show will also include "pick your poison matches" with SPW New Zealand Heavyweight Champion JK Moody and the number one contender Kane Khan picking each other's opponents. In Mexico, Lucha Memes put on another big show at Arena Naucalpan with Chairo Numero Once on Monday. The show will include some of the best luchadores in the country with Keira vs Silueta, Caifan vs Mr Niebula, and Jack Evans against Volador Jr. in what may just be a high-flying epic. Heading onto mainland Europe, French promotion International Catch Wrestling Alliance head to the Henin-Beaumont area with Handicatch 2 on Saturday. Cruiserweight Classic competitor Tristan Archer competes against Gianni Leone, while Senza Volto takes on Cormac Hamilton.  If you're in the area, then tickets can be purchased here.

In Scandinavia, Denmark's number one promotion, Dansk Pro Wrestling present The Best Vs. The Best on Saturday. DPW heavyweight champion Chaos will defend his title against Mark O. Madsen. There will also be a table match between Abdullah Khalil and Carlos Zamora. All information can be found on their Facebook page.

One country that has produced several great wrestlers of late is Holland. With Aleister Black becoming the first Dutchman to wrestle for WWE, and guys like Michael Dante and Jurn Simmons impressing all throughout Europe. Pro Wrestling Showdown are one promotion making their name at the moment and they put on their next show on Saturday in Eindhoven. The show presents a battle of North America as Canadian veteran Joe E Legend wrestles Alexander James in a World Championship qualifier, and a tag team title match between defending champions Soldiers of Fortune and Hollandse Glory. Moving over to Germany, Championship of Wrestling return to Saarbrucken for Final Battle on Saturday. Mae Young Classic competitor Jazzy Gabert will defend her COW Women's Championship against her longtime rival Melania Gray. Another of Germany's biggest names, Markus Al-Ani, will also appear in a match against TKO. Germany is a hotbed for wrestling right now and all information about this show can be found on their website.
