WWE 2K22 delayed, release date and teaser trailer revealed

Just a few days ago, the next fully rendered screenshots from WWE 2K22 were revealed as fans got a first look at "The Rated R Superstar" Edge.

It was good timing, as Edge was just days away from his major SummerSlam clash against Seth Rollins, but there was more to come at SummerSlam.

Now, following months of waiting, we've finally got another teaser trailer for WWE 2K22 that you can watch right here!

On top of being the next great look we've got at how things could be when the game is finally released, this confirmed the title will indeed be delayed.

WWE 2K22 is now scheduled for a release date in March 2022, lining it up to be released just before WrestleMania 38 and right in line with the reset point in the WWE's annual calendar.

While many fans will be understandably frustrated by the delay, we took a closer look here at why the news is actually good for WWE 2K22.

More news set to arrive in January 2022

In addition to the big news about WWE 2K22 being delayed, we received confirmation from 2K that they're planning a string of reveals in January 2022.

Among the details coming at that time, they're planning a full announcement of features, game modes, the cover superstar, and more.

We don't have any indications just yet what all is planned for those areas, but right now Edge has quickly become a frontrunner for the cover of WWE 2K22.

RATED R: The legend Edge is looking amazing so far in WWE 2K22

With the choice to release his render early, on top of his current run in WWE, putting the legend on the cover would be a safe call.

Other big names in the running include Roman Reigns, Sasha Banks, and even other legends like John Cena or Goldberg.

There will definitely be hope for a GM Mode return in WWE 2K22, but upgrades to Universe Mode may be what we see instead.

Either way, the news means WWE 2K22 is something the developers are committed to getting right at launch, and we're hopeful it could be the best game the series has seen in years.
