All match types in WWE 2K24!

WWE 2K24 is arguably the greatest wrestling game ever, as it delivers a very immersive gaming experience. One thing that plays a major role in that is the plethora of different match types the game has.

From first-time inclusion to classic returns, WWE 2K24 has some amazing match types that allow fans to live all of their wrestling dreams. Or even better, recreate some of the most iconic matches in wrestling history.

New match types

WWE 2K24 introduced two brand-new match types. These two match modes were something the community had been asking for quite some time, and that had another layer of immersion to the game.

The first is an ambulance match, a match type that had only been featured in Showcase Mode in the past. The purpose of an ambulance match, similar to a casket match, is to shut your opponent in the back of an ambulance - it really is as straightforward as that.

A gauntlet match is the second brand-new match mode. It's a very exciting match due to its ever-changing nature. A gauntlet match sees multiple superstars competing one after another, with the last superstar left standing being crowned as the winner.

All of these match types are readily available in Universe Mode, adding an extra layer of immersion and diversification to WWE 2K24's overall gameplay.

Listening to fans has been a staple of the WWE 2K franchise over the past couple of years and it's great to see this year was no different, with 2K reacting to feedback and implementing some new, and returning, match types.

Returning classics

The biggest returning match type is the special guest referee, with WWE 2K24 featuring the match type for the first time in many years.

Seeing you don the black and white referee top as your chosen superstar, you have the option to play fair or turn on a certain wrestler. It's a feature that can change how matches, and feuds, feel in WWE 2K24, so make sure to try it out.

Another returning match type is the casket match, a particular favourite of the Undertaker. The goal of a casket match is to knock your opponent out and lock them in a casket/coffin, which is as gruesome and convoluted as it sounds.
