Games With Gold November 2021: More free Xbox games are on the way

Xbox's Games With Gold announcements have been a little mediocre since its launch. Luckily, November's 2021 Games With Gold are pretty solid, providing some great indie hits.

Latest - Announcements are now here

This month's games have finally been announced. They are:

Here is all the information we had prior to this announcement.

When do we find out what's coming?

Every month, Xbox's Major Nelson - Larry Hryb to his friends - announces the upcoming month's Games With Gold games. Without fail, this announcement arrives at the same time on the last Wednesday of the month.

With this in mind, we know exactly when to expect Larry Hryb's Games With Gold announcement Tweet for November 2021. Here's when...

  • 08:00 October 27th PST
  • 11:00 October 27th EST
  • 16:00 October 27th BST

Xbox Games With Gold Announcement

There's going to be a total of four Xbox games on offer, staggered throughout the month.

RELEASE - When can we play these free Xbox games?

With this in mind, when can we start playing the next batch of free Xbox games?

As we've said above, they're released in a staggered format. This means two of them will be available to play from November 1st and the second pair will be available to play from November 15th.

What's more, they will be available in the following format:

  • Free Xbox Game One - November 1st until November 30th
  • Free Xbox Game Two - November 1st until November 14th
  • Free Xbox Game Three - November 15th until December 14th
  • Free Xbox Game Four - November 15th until November 30th

It's a good way of spreading the games out, but can be frustrating if you want to play one of the games available mid-month.

PREDICTIONS? - What do we think we're getting?

With this in mind, what four Xbox games do we think we're getting?

Xbox's Games With Gold announcements tend to include two Xbox One titles and then two Xbox games from the Xbox 360 and original Xbox library. This is fantastic for variety, but can also mean we get a few less-than-exciting games each month.

With this in mind, here's what we think we're getting...

Assassin's Creed Odyssey (Xbox One)

It's been a long time since we've seen a full Assassin's Creed game included in Xbox's Games With Gold announcement. Odyssey isn't the most recent title, but it's one of the newer games and lends itself well to a title with hours of additional gameplay in it - outside of the main story. Ancient Greece is the perfect setting to go galavanting with Kassandra or Alexios in this Blockbuster action RPG.

Forza Horizon 3 (Xbox One)

With Forza Horizon 5 on the horizon - see what we did there - we think Xbox will offer players a chance to give the series a go with Forza Horizon 3. This open-world racing game is set in a fictional Australia and features all the thrilling gameplay you'd expect from a racing title with both on-road and off-road experiences.

Splinter Cell Conviction (Xbox 360)

Sam Fisher's second-to-last outing is one of the best action stealth games out there. Splinter Cell Conviction is a fantastic exploration into a blockbuster narrative featuring everyone's favourite Echelon agent. The Mark and Execute feature is just one reason that makes this a worthwhile experience.

Saints Row 2 (Xbox 360)

Saints Row 2 is an iconic action-adventure game that offers players a Grand Theft Auto-like experience raised to the next level. Saints Row games are insane and this would be the perfect way to round out a varied month from Xbox's Games With Gold.
