Forza Horizon is a fun spin-off of Forza Motorsport, which sees players explore and race in a vast open world, rather than racing on a traditional race track.
It has long been rumoured that the next entry in the series, Forza Horizon 5, would be set in Japan.
But, new insider leaks suggest that the game could be set in Mexico.
Forza Horizon 5 To Be Set In Mexico
Windows Central’s Jez Corden recently tweeted that he wants to visit Mexico, followed by a car emoji.
While on the surface this doesn't seem like much, Jeff Grubb later confirmed that tweet was referring to Forza Horizon 5.
“The rumour was always Japan, right? I got some fake screenshots a long time ago that I never shared, that were in Japan, and I was like, ‘that’s not real’. It turned out that wasn’t real.
But I wasn’t looking into it too hard, because I’m like, ‘we’ll find out when we find out', and then Jez is like ‘I’m going to Mexico with my car’, so yeah, it’s in Mexico.”
It is currently rumoured that Forza Horizon 5 will be revealed at E3 2021 and will be released in the summer, which seems a bit early for a major title that has just been announced, but it could happen.
However, Forza Motorsport 8 has already been announced and typically the series alternates between the two, with Horizon 4 being the latest entry in the Forza series.
With E3 right around the corner, we will find out soon enough what the Xbox brand has up its sleeves.
Since Halo Infinite was delayed, Xbox has had very few exclusives which doesn't help when trying to sell a brand new console, especially with Sony releasing multiple including Returnal and the upcoming Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart.
Late 2021/early 2022 is likely when we will start to see most of the upcoming titles be released on Xbox, but until then it will be tough to sell gamers on the new Xbox Series X|S.
