Genshin Impact The Shadow Over Petrichor Quest Guide

The Genshin Impact Version 4.6 update has now been released with a series of World Quests travelers can complete in the new Fontaine area. None of these missions are related to the main storyline but reveal plenty of information about locations and characters.

The Shadow Over Petrichor is one of these quests. It takes players on a journey to uncover the secrets hidden in the town of Petrichor. This quest is relatively short and rewards players with 30 Primogems upon completion. Other than that, it unlocks the Faded Castle and Remuria maps.

The Shadow Over Petrichor Quest Walkthtough

Starting the Quest

To start The Shadow Over Petrichor quest in Genshin Impact, head to Petrichor using the waypoint automatically unlocked in Version 4.6. Once there, activate the Statue of the Seven, revealing the area map.

Defeat the "Bandits"

Next, approach the two NPCs near the town entrance and talk to them; they will point you toward the Bellringer. As soon as you are done talking to the NPCs, you will realize that they are thieves stealing treasure. Defeat them and continue with the quest. The thieves, once defeated, will leave the treasure and flee with their boat.

Upon inspection of the treasure, Paimon will find that there is no valuable treasure the thieves were trying to steal. It was nothing but heavy shards of shattered stone.

Your character will now head over to the statue nearby whose broken parts were in the container, and mysteriously, you’ll be transported to a dreamscape. Here, you will meet a mysterious entity explaining something.

Head to Petrichor

Follow the quest navigation and head towards the nearby town of Petrichor. Here, you'll find the Bellringer. Paimon will ask him questions about the Dark Lord Remus, but he'll be distracted and collapse during the conversation.

As soon as the Bellringer faints, another mysterious entity, Este, appears. He will explain the strange happenings in the town and ask for your help.

Explore the ruins in the mountain and fefeat the revived statue

Follow the Quest marker to the mountain ruins in the west of Petrichor. You will find the Praetorian Golem guarding the spot deep in the ruins. Defeat it, and a glowing and talking cat named Osse will appear. This cat will provide insight into the situation and unlock the road to the ancient real beneath the spring before you.

Osse will now activate the device that maintains the seal and ask for help to retrieve the harp strings to break the seal and open the way.

Follow Osse into the deep spring and Go to the underwater Faded Castle

Now, follow Osse into the spring and head to the underwater Faded Castle. Head into the castle with Ossy, who will take you to a music box.

Once you get the music box, Osse will teach you about the "Might of the Ancient Symphony." Press T to activate the ability and swap your Elemental Skill with Ancient Symphony. The Shadow Over Petrichor quest will end after you get the music box.
