It's launch week for Madden 24 at long, long last. EA has given players plenty of info about the new game, but there is nothing quite like getting your hands on it and actually playing.
With lots of new mechanics expected to enhance gameplay, this year's Madden Ultimate Team should be a fresh challenge for everyone. So what can players expect from Madden 24 Ultimate Team? Well, the good folks at Good Morning Madden are about to tell us!
Season 1 start time
The new Ultimate Team journey is about to get underway. Season 1 starts on Friday 18 August, which is when the new Competitive Field Pass starts as well.
Season 1 will offer an upgradeable Jalen Ramsey as the biggest reward. You will be able to get him all the way up to an 89 OVR. Other players available in the Season 1 field pass include DeAndre Swift (Level 4, 83 OVR), Bryce Young (Level 8, 84 OVR upgradeable to 86 OVR), Reggie White (Level 21, 85 OVR upgradeable to 87 OVR), and DeAndre Hopkins (Level 34, 86 OVR).

Team Captains
Like with the start of any MUT cycle, players will need to pick their captain for the rest of the year. In Madden 23 we got the choice between Keyshawn Johnson, Sam Adams, Larry Csonka, and Eric Allen.
This the four team captains are Frank Gore, Kevin Mawae, Ronde Barber, and Eric Berry. Players can use all four team captains at the same time as this feature of MUT gets its own Field Pass. With 16 levels, you can get each of the four captains and 12 tokens. It will take five to make them each 85 OVR, so you have to pick which ones to build around.
Headliners Release 1
The first big program for Madden 24 Ultimate Team will be Headliners. This program will provide a few 87 OVR cards to be the best available in Madden 24.
This year's Champions are Kenny Pickett, Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, and Kamren Curl. As expected they are 87 OVR, with two 87 OVR LTDs Rhamondre Stevenson and Frankie Luvu featuring in packs.
There are several 84 OVR Heroes and serveal Front Page players that will start at 79 OVR and be upgradeable to 85 OVR.
Team Builders & Legends
We will also get news about the first wave of Team Builders for those theme teams that players love and the first release of Legends cards.
As ever, the Legends on offer will depend on the license agreements EA have in place. We can expect a number of familiar faces from last year to carry over into this year, with Bruce Smith, DeMarcus Ware, and Anthony Munoz all likely to carry over. There are also likely to be new Legends like the recently retired Tom Brady added to the pool.
Legends cards will likely start around the 83 OVR range and go up to 89 OVR, with some power-ups beginning at 79 OVR and being worth their weight in gold.
Team Builders are those players that sit in the middle of team depth charts and are unlikely to ever get a big card. The likes of Grant Delpit, Hunter Henry, and Dante Fowler kick off Team Builders this year, starting with 85 OVR cards.
