AEW Fight Forever promises to be one of the most intriguing sports game releases of 2023, with the game sitting in perpetuity for some time.

The rival to WWE are looking to take them on the video game world as well, with this new game set to launch at some point soon.

However, the release date has certainly been the biggest sticking point and we think it's about time some clarity was provided.

With that in mind, let's take a look at everything we know about the prospective release of AEW Fight Forever on the Nintendo Switch.

As of now, the game has no set release date and information is scant as to when the game will release.

There is a chance that the game could be delayed, with many voicing their concerns that the game could be outdated almost instantaneously.

The latest update came from THQ Nordic’s Global Senior Community Manager Zyddies, who squashed reports of an imminent release date for the game, but did clarify that it's in a good place.

CLINGING ON - AEW Fight Forever is in desperate need of a solid release date
"It really looks like a good game... Everything I’ve seen and everything looks amazing."
"Sorry that was not the news that everybody wanted, that the game is fully finished... but not just yet."
"The game is in a good state. As soon as we do launch it, I think people will be happy, then everybody will just forget about all the other stuff, and everybody will be happy and enjoy it.... but that doesn’t mean the game is done."

Whilst it may not be a concrete release date, it is the first update we've received regarding the game for some time, with its eventual release looking to be more of a matter of months, not weeks.

Will AEW Fight Forever be on Nintendo Switch?

Good news Switch fans, AEW Fight Forever is coming to your consoles.

The Switch has had it hard when it comes to wrestling game, with the recent release of WWE 2K23 not arriving on the Nintendo console.

There's no doubt that sports games have failed to impress so far on the Switch, but AEW Fight Forever could be the game to buck that trend.

We know that AEW Fight Forever will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

On top of that, the game will have a standardized $59.99 price point across all platforms with no price hike on next gen editions.

Cover Stars

The biggest early detail to leak may be that one Xtralife listing revealed the full AEW Fight Forever cover design just ahead of the official announcement.

As seen below, they unveiled a combo cover featuring CM Punk at the centre with Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, Jade, and Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. around him.

However, the increasingly complicated situation with CM Punk's potential departure from All Elite Wrestling may see some changes.

Previously unveiled cover star CM Punk was missing entirely from the trailer, and that included a final image similar to previously shown box art for the game.

We've got more details here on what this move could mean for the AEW Fight Forever cover and CM Punk's presence in the title.

That potential cover now sits in limbo with the noted absence of CM Punk from the latest trailer.
