With controls changing a lot in recent years, we want to take you through the basics and show you the ropes, starting with reversals.
Whatever mode you're playing, reversals play a key role in WWE 2K23 and you'll need to master this function in order to gain the upper hand.
Check below for everything you need to know about reversing moves in WWE 2K23.
How to reverse moves in WWE 2K23
Whilst landing the perfect strike can be key to getting the three count, reversing moves is equally important when looking to gain the upper hand.
With the reversal bar now gone, this mechanic has become more difficult to master, with precise timing required in order to escape a deadly blow.
Triangle on PS5, or Y on Xbox, is the button you'll need to press in order to perform a reversal in WWE 2K23.
Reversals are all about timing, with it taking some time to get used to when to perfectly execute your reversal.
Often, you will be prompted to press the reversal button when a strike is set to land, but some moves cannot be reversed, especially when your opponent is in the middle of a combo.
Some moves, like signatures and finishers, but not limited to, can offer a double chance of reversal, meaning you can reverse the initial strike or escape mid-way through the move.
For example, John Cena's Attitude Adjustment move allows you to reverse the initial strike or interrupt the move whilst on Cena's shoulders.
Executing the perfect reversal is key to avoiding defeat, but it's important to remember that reversals can take up stamina and slow you down.
Some superstars have a bigger window for reversals than others, with stars like R-Truth possessing low reversal stats and therefore far more difficult to escape with.
Overall, mastering the art of reversal and learning the sweet spots for every different move is certain to set you on a positive path as you progress through WWE 2K23.
